The sweetest fundraiser of the year! Every year, Second Harvest hosts the Thanks for Giving Dessert Auction at Mother Stewart’s Brewing on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. During this event, 30 homemade desserts are donated by local organizations and community members to be auctioned, with proceeds benefiting Second Harvest. Each year’s proceeds surpasses the last, with 2025’s event drawing over 100 community members and raising more than $75,000 for the food bank. This action-packed event is a favorite within the Springfield community with tasty treats, great company, and a worthy cause. You won’t want to miss this!

NEW THIS YEAR: SWEETEN THE SCORE CHALLENGE

This year, businesses, corporations, and organizations donating a dessert to Second Harvest Food Bank’s Annual Thanks for Giving Dessert Auction can take their participation one step further by joining the Sweeten the Score Challenge! Participating organizations will compete to raise the most money for Second Harvest before and during the auction.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:

Donate a dessert to be auctioned at the Thanks for Giving Dessert Auction.
Join the Sweeten the Score Challenge by checking the box on the dessert donation form, and Second Harvest will create a dedicated fundraising page with a unique URL for your organization.
Your organization can raise funds ahead of the auction through your campaign page. The fundraising deadline is November 21, 2026.
At the auction, the amount your dessert sells for will be combined with the amount your organization raised through its campaign.
The organization with the highest combined total will be crowned the Sweeten the Score Challenge winner!

THE PRIZE:

The winning organization will receive the Sweeten the Score traveling trophy, which they can proudly display in their office for one year. The trophy will return to Second Harvest for next year’s competition, giving another organization the chance to take home the title!
